Don't expect anything major on the recruiting front this weekend for the LSU-Troy game.

Since this game was supposed to be played back on Sept. 6, and it's a non-conference tilt, it isn't going to be anything major from a recruiting standpoint. No official visits are slated this weekend.

The Tigers have one more big push for a home game, next Saturday when Ole Miss comes to town for the home finale.

Claiborne rating to come Saturday

ESPNU's recruiting staff from Scouts Inc., has been reviewing hastily acquired tape of LSU's most recent commitment, cornerback Morris Claiborne (6-1, 185) from Shreveport Fair Park. Apparently, like LSU's coaches, the folks from ESPNU like what they see and will be giving Claiborne a favorable grade which will be released Saturday on ESPNU.com.

Jarvis Jones eliminating LSU?

According to a report from ESPN-affiliate site TotalUGA.com, Columbus (Ga.) Carver linebacker Jarvis Jones may be trimming LSU from his list just a week after his visit for the LSU-Alabama game.

The report cites no sources but paraphrases people close to Jones as saying the highly regarded linebacker had only an OK visit to LSU and didn't get enough of a charge out of his trip to make the Tigers a major player for his services.

According to the report, Jones has pretty much settled on a top three - Southern California, Florida and Georgia. Miami and LSU are apparently on the back burner. Texas' chances with Jones have been hurt by increasing chatter that former LSU and current Longhorns defensive coordinator Will Muschamp may soon be leaving Austin for a head coaching job.

Jones (6-3, 215) is rated by ESPNU as the nation's sixth-best outside linebacker and is ranked No. 65 on the ESPNU 150.
