Former wide receiver Craig Davis, termed a disappointment in a wire report as a two-year wide receiver with the San Diego Chargers, will miss the remainder of the season with a groin injury.

The Chargers placed Davis, the club's first-round draft pick in 2007, on injured reserve Wednesday.

Davis had just four catches for 59 yards and no touchdowns this season and sat out the last five games with an injury. He had 20 catches for 188 yards and a touchdowns as a rookie.
